Here is a beautiful antique tina box (svepask) from Sweden.  This box is intricately painted with a floral design on the lid and back side, and a scene with a young girl standing in a field with birch and pine trees, and a log cabin in the background.   The girl is wearing a traditional Swedish costume.   The box is made of birch and is 12 ½ inches long, 5 tall, and 5 wide.  It was originally used most likely for holding jewelry or possibly small sewing supplies. You can use it for storing small treasures, or start a collection of tinas; they look fantastic grouped together on a small table or shelf!   $395

This is a beautiful old tine box from Norway, with beautiful banding around the box and a very very long clasp that pulls out to open the box. (see pictures) The box is 8" long but to the end of the clasp, is 10" long. It is 6 3/4" tall and 6" from front to back. I have never seen one this unusual with the wonderful banding around it. Note also the way the banding meets and is finished off. It is amazing. There is a solid wood bottom and the base box is built like a stave bucket , the finished with the great bands.
