This Dala is in fantastic shape!   He is exactly 12 inches tall, 3 ½ wide, and very sturdy.  He is painted the traditional orange/red with more blue accents and fewer green than is often seen on the traditional dalas.  He also has his eyes open, which is quite rare.  Has a little bit of wear on the tops of his ears and the side of his nose.   Would be a fantastic addition to your Dala Horse collection, or a wonderful display horse on his own!   Was made and painted in Färnäs, Sweden by Färnäs Hemslöjd & Snickerier.  $215.

A Dala Horse with a history!  This Dala has been through a lot in his life, and has quite charming characteristics to show it!  His head has been reattached, (this Dala was most likely a child's toy in the past) and he has a few slight burn marks on his sides, probably from being left too close to a candle!  The finish on this Dala horse has worn wonderfully, with traditional "kurbits" painting and the blue dots that are characteristic of so many of the old white Dalas!  5 1/2 inches tall.  Exact age unknown.

These 2 very rare and special horses are from Hälsingland in Sweden and are from my personal collection, having been purchased from a special collector who lives in Hälsingland. The smaller one is from the late 1800s and is 2 5/8" high. The fatter one, is from the 1940s , is 3 1/8" and with a wider nose. Look closely at the tiny narrow nose of the smaller one, that is a trademark of older ones and especially the Hälsingland ones. They have no decoration, only the wonderful splash of color that is made from the powder of iron ore, which is mined in Sweden. We welcome your questions , these are for the serious dala horse collector. They are in good condition. there is one tiny splinter missing from the ear of the largest horse, but not a problem. This is a very rare and wonderful set of 3 old, old dala horses from Sweden. These are collector horses and so rare and hard to find. The largest one , with the old white paint, is the most rare and wonderful, even with the mended head. He is 6 3/4" tall, and 6 1/2" long and from the 1800s. The largest blue one is 6" tall and 6" long and is from the early 1900s. The smallest darker blue one is from the 1920s with a very skinny head and old wonderful paint, and this one is 5 1/2" tall, 5 1/4" long. Please email any questions

 

 

 This is a very sweet and very fancy dala horse which we purchased in Sweden in 2003. It is designer made and signed on the bottom with the number, date and name of artist. This is no. 6. He is very sweet and super new and in great condition. The color of blue is outstanding and with the gold tail and mane, he is one outstanding horses from Sweden and for the collector. WE purchased this at the Öland museum in Sweden, a replica of a soldier from long ago. On the bottom , it says "Kopia ar Fargos Ryttarre", nr. 69, and the artists name BCrandall, and it also says the price, 490 SEK, (this equals about $70.00). It is well done and hand painted with a very regal look. It is 10" tall and 7" long.  We would hope that someone whose heritage is from Öland to be able to purchase this to enjoy. thanks.

Child's hobby horse from Sweden, circa early 1900s, this horse is in good condition and can be ridden without any repair. It is 26" long and 26" tall. On our last buying trip, we found one of these and it lasted on the website 3 days. smile. This is extremely rare and the only one we have like this. We do have a rocking horse on our website a bit different than this one but both of these are old and wonderful and from Sweden, enjoy.

Circa 1870 , this  large rocking horse is  from the Gemla Toy Factory , which operated in Southern Sweden from 1850 to 1920, and is a wonderful example of their work. The factory was named after the town in which it was located, in Gemla, Sweden. The rockers are 44" long and the horse is 26" long and 26"  high. There is one stirrup missing and there has been some repair to the rockers.

This is a wonderful old Swedish dala horse and cart which has been in our personal collection for many many years. It is outstanding and most unusual.
